The report has been filed and coordinates offered to all SAC members by the spotter plane from yesterday’s flight over our offshore areas. Checkout the spotter plane logophoto they captured of the balled up yellowtail!

A number of areas with tuna spotted today. Fish from 40-100+ pounds and schools in the 70-100 ton range.  Boilers with big fish were scattered in several areas, and a one balled up school of yellowtail with about 15 tons of 20+ pounders was spotted.

Under great weather conditions, we spotted good sightings of schools throughout coastal areas from San Diego to Ensenada. The schools are substantial–25 to150-plus pound bluefin tuna were spotted. Boilers were common with schools feeding on anchovies. The following pictures are for your use from the plane today. may26spotterplane4 may26spotterplane3 may26spotterplane2

Fred Hall Shows in Del Mar… And the Winner Is…

March 29th, 2017|News|

At Searcher Sportfishing we are dedicated to the sustainability, conservation and enhancement of our marine resources and coastal environments. At this year’s Fred Hall Shows in Del Mar, we partnered with our friends at the Coastal Conservation Association to bring support and awareness to their mission. The purpose of CCA is to advise and educate the public on conservation of marine resources; and aims to thconserve, promote, and enhance the present and future availability of those coastal resources for the benefit and enjoyment of the general public.

In addition to all the great benefits of being a member, we added a little honey to the pot – a gift certificate to Searcher Sportfishing valued at $495.00!! And the winner is…

CONGRATULATIONS Jeff Schoellerman of San Diego!!

Wishing you could fish at Guadalupe Island this summer/fall?

March 16th, 2017|Capt Art's Blog, News|

Just a book a trip aboard Searcher! It was a long process, but we have been informed that our permit to fish Guadalupe Island this summer and fall will be issued soon. Please read the information below if you are interested in fishing there again.

For 2017, all 5-, 6-, and 7-day trips MAY include the opportunity to fish at Guadalupe. The actual fishing locations will be decided each trip by the captain, and his decisions will be based on best available fishing — determined by conditions and fishing reports. Guadalupe Island could be one of those locations or not. In addition we have added TWO new trips in November that will be “Guadalupe Island Specials,” and those trips will target fishing the island.

GUADALUPE SPECIALS for 2017:
Trip 33: Sat, Nov 4 – Fri, Nov 10, 6-day trip, 14 anglers, Ultra-limited load, $3600*
Trip 34: Sat Nov 11 – Fri, Nov 17, 6-day trip, 25 anglers, Accurate Fishing/Seeker Rods, $2340*

Searcher Aerial Propwash*FEES: Any trips fishing Guadalupe Island will require additional fees to access the island and fulfill necessary immigration requirements. We are estimating that to be about $250 per person, due on the day of departure.

As for ALL trips in 2017, a valid passport is required. Don’t miss out because you didn’t renew in time!

Thank you to our Searcher Sponsors!
