Trip 7: 6-day (Jul 20-26) Izorline and Turner’s Outdoorsman Open

Hello anglers, We headed east overnight to an area of yellowfin tuna. We managed to get some action on yellowfin up to 18#. We had lots of chances and saw several spots of fish throughout the day. Not all the spots cooperated with biting fish, but a few did. Live bait was the best method, with 25-40 pound line and a 2/0 J-hook. A few fish were landed using artificial lures. The weather was great with sunny skies and light winds. Here is a group photo of most of the lady anglers on board. We are headed north to look for yellowtail on kelp paddies. Trip 7: 6-day (Jul 20-26) Izorline and Turner’s Outdoorsman Open

Hello anglers, Unfortunately, my report has very disappointing fishing results for today. The tuna didn't show up like they did yesterday. We were very patient, waiting in the same place and offering up nice baiit, but they were elsewhere. We could stay another day but we are ready for some catching on this trip! We are relocating to an area of biting yellowfin tuna. We will be there at daylight, so wish us luck. The weather is great with light winds and no sea conditions, so that is working in our favor.  Captain Art and Team Searcher

Trip 7: 6-day (Jul 20-26) Izorline and Turner’s Outdoorsman Open

Hello anglers, We were pleasantly surprised this morning when the yellowfin tuna started showing around the boat. It started around 8 am and continued until after lunch. Most of the fish we are seeing and landing are around 60 pounds. A couple of fish we landed were 40 pounds. The best method today was a live sardine and 40 pound line and fluorocarbon with a 3/0 circle hook. Here is Judy K  with a fish hooked by the crew on a Seeker Rod and an Accurate reel. We are spending the night and trying again tomorrow. Trip 7: 6-day (Jul 20-26) Izorline and Turner’s Outdoorsman Open

Hello anglers, We arrived yesterday afternoon at the Island. There are some good conditions with 68 degree water and some current. We tried as many spots as we could without much success. We saw a sign of tuna in one of the spots, but they didn't want to bite. We caught a couple of yellowtail, in fact Dave S got a nice one. We have high hopes for tomorrow.  Captain Art and Team Searcher

Trip 5 – 3-day (July 11-14) Seeker Rods Open

Good evening anglers: For day 3 of our Seeker trip, we fished bluefin tuna with some fair results on beautiful grade fish. The best methods to get a bite was flylining with 40 or 50lb test and a 3/0 hook. Craig G, his daughter Lisa, and son Ryan worked as a family to catch this 75# bluefin. The fish was landed on the SONAR rod and reel gift that Craig received as the grand prize for 2018. And this trip was his free 3-day trip that he won in addition to the rod/reel combo. Bring a friend fishing and win, like Craig did in 2018! Get all the details here: SONAR We would like to give a big thank you to Seeker Fishing Rods and pro-staffer Sophia H. for all their giveaways on this trip. Captain Shawn and Team Searcher
