Jul 19 (4 day) Accurate Fishing

Good morning

We started out at the Colonet shallow this morning and we saw a little bit of yellowtail jumping around but we never hooked any. We left around 9am and started working west to look for yellowfin.  We found a kelp and loaded up on some more nice yellows and dorado.  We’re back in the hunt for yellowfin tuna.

Good evening,

We covered a lot of water today and found some yellowfin tuna however they were pretty small.  We scraped up a few more nice yellows and dorado though.  We’re going to try catch a bluefin tuna tomorrow.

Jul 18 (4 day) Accurate Fishing Products

Good morning,

We have been scratching on these premium-grade yellowtail all morning today.  All of them have been associated with kelp patties. They are primarily 12-20#–a few smaller and a few bigger, but lots of fun this morning.

Good evening,

We had a very fun day of fishing yellowtail and dorado on kelps today.  We had action all day.

Beautiful weather and biting fish–what more could you ask for?

We’re going to slide down the beach and see if we can locate some yellowfin tuna and maybe some more dorado and yellowtail.

Jul 17 (July 17-21) Accurate Fishing Products

Good evening,

We departed on our annual 4-day Accurate Fishing sponsored trip this morning and started heading down the beach.  Late in the afternoon today we started seeing large schools of big bluefin though the fish didn’t bite. We had one school that boiled up and we got one short bite.

We stopped on a few kelps with fish on them that didn’t really bite either but we managed one nice yellowtail and one nice dorado for our afternoon.  We’re going to look around west of here tomorrow for a kelp.

Jul 15 (4 day) Poseidon Fishing Adventures

Good evening,
It was a tough day for us.  We got into a kelp zone late and there were just scraps left. So we kept rolling down and bumped into another large area of non-biting bluefin which we tried for a little while for one bite.

We did see fish on kelps, but we just couldn’t get any bites. So we’re going to try again tomorrow morning.

Jul 14 (July 13-17) Poseidon Fishing Adventures

Good morning ,

We traveled yesterday to get to the bluefin grounds in time for a night bite.  We saw very good sign throughout the night of 50-200# fish.  They didn’t bite all that well, but we had a couple opportunities–once right when we got here and one right before the sun came up.

We’re seeing very good sign again with the sun up here this morning but they are not biting yet. Stay tuned!

The infamous night bite!

Good evening,

We looked at these same fish all day today.  It was very frustrating at times since there are plenty of fish but it’s hard for us to get a bite, and even harder to land.  We did manage to land a few and they were nice ones.

We still see it here before sunset and we’re going to see what the first few hours of the night bring, then move on.

Hello anglers,
After a very slow day and night yesterday we decided to head south for some action with yellowtail on kelp paddies. We found a few kelps that have some nice size yellows on them!

The weather is nice with light winds very little seas and the sun is coming out. More later,

Jul 10 (3 day) July 10-13

Hello anglers,

We went west to try for bluefin tuna after getting good reports from the boats on scene. We had a great opportunity to catch bluefin tuna up to 180 pounds. We had some losses but everyone had a great chance. We saw fish almost all night until about 4:30 a.m. when the fish vanished.

We are hopeful for some action during the day as we wait for another chance tonight.

More later,

Hello again!
We stayed close to last night’s area all morning, and have seen tremendous schools of bluefin on the surface, eating small bait. Unfortunately we haven’t caught anything. We will keep working and hope for a repeat tonight! Very nice weather with light winds and a small swell.

Jul 9 (3 day) July 7-10 Seeker Rods Sponsored

Good morning,

We marked one of our kelps from yesterday with our satelite buoy and hit it a few times this morning  We loaded up on it and took off around noon. The kelp paddy was flying to the south and we’re a long way from home.

We had wide open fishing on 12-20# yellowtail again.  Very fun morning and the weather is nice as well.
