Finished our charter trip with a bang! Reeled in some nice yellowfin this evening. We want to send a big thank the Herzog and Rexel groups for a pleasurable 3 days on the water. We look forward to seeing you next year. Heres a shot of Tom Bartell with his yellowfin. Extra tackle tip for today 25# line and a small hook preferably a 2/O. Always good to have on hand. We are having some good tuna fishing so far today, with yellowfin and bluefin both! Here’s Rees P. with a nice bluefin. Tackle tip for today was to use a Colt sniper and 30 pound test line. Wish us good luck for the afternoon bite.

End of day report:
Good day of tuna fishing for the Herzog group! We had limits of fun weather is great. Most of are fish today were caught on a fly-lined bait and 30lb line. We also caught quite a few on small lures called “snipers.” We are looking to fish the same area tomorrow, wish us luck.

We left on our 3-day charter with friends from Herzog Electric this morning. We had some good bluefin tuna fishing this afternoon! The most successful anglers were using 30# fluorocarbon and a 3/0 hook.
We’re going to stay where we are and try it again tomorrow. Wish us continued tuna luck.

We fished for yellowfin tuna today and even caught a few! There are alot of fish out here, and now we need to figure out what will make them bite.

Hello Anglers,Top of the morning to you! We have seen a lot of action yesterday and more action this morning with yellowtail. The weather is great, and we are all having fun times with Seeker aboard. Lots of rods to try. This afternoon we headed offshore for some tuna action. Hoping this Friday will be filled with tuna. Capt. Shawn and the Searcher crew

Hello anglers,
We left on our first trip of the 2018 season on a trip sponsored by Accurate Fishing Products. We travelled to Coronado Islands to try for yellowtail. There’s plenty of activity here, and now we’re working on what they are hungry for! We got a sample this afternoon, and plan to stay for another day.
Afternoon update:
We had lots of action today with yellowtail. The best method for landing a yellowtail has been a flyline with sardine on 25 pound line and a 2/0 hook. A few fish were caught on artificial lures as well. The weather is great with sunny skies this afternoon and calm seas.
Here is the Gantz family with a sample of the yellowtail caught this morning. Craig is a long time Searcher angler. He brought his son and daughter with him on this trip for a full family experience. Lots of fun was had by all today.

Shawn Trowbridge is joining Team Searcher and will be operating fishing trips along with Captains Art and Aaron!
We are thrilled to add such an experienced and well-liked skipper to our team. Many anglers know his name since he’s operated a variety of other San Diego-based sportboats, and owned and operated his own boat out of Seaforth Landing. 
Shawn is celebrating his 30th year of maintaining a US Coast Guard license with his first issue
in 1988.
In his career, Shawn has fished from southeast Alaska to Puerto Vallarta and all the fishing spots in between!
Shawn currently resides in Idaho and loves the outdoors–can you tell? 
Fishing, snow sports, hunting are just a few of his favorite activities, especially when in the company of his family.
